AmaraMoms was created for parents who share an
interest in Indian culture. We see this as a forum that provides
resources, ideas and answers to things unique to us. "We"
are Bindiya and Manisha, moms of two young kids each. We both
come from India and have lived in the Bay Area for several years.
Over the years, we have come to cherish and trust
our network of fellow Indian parents. We rely on each other to
help strike a balance between the two cultures, as well as mold
the value systems with which our children are being raised.
It was a typical rainy day in February, on a long
drive to San Francisco, that we decided to launch our website
and invite other parents to share their experiences and challenges,
as well as find useful information. After all, it does take a
virtual village!
And, last but not least...
Why "Amara"? Amara is another name for a flower of everlasting
beauty; a flower that never fades. How could we resist that?
